From 2021 to 2023, SHINRYU (previously known as SHIN [Shinnosuke Fujiwara]) participated in the “Merry Christmas” project, a global initiative where he, alongside over 20 acclaimed artists like Oscar-nominated actor Paul Raci and Grammy-nominated bassist Mark Corradetti, sang a Christmas song in their native languages to promote worldwide unity. Representing Japan, SHINRYU contributed to this heartfelt collaboration.

Who is SHINRYU?
SHINRYU
- SHINRYU has performed on over 1,000 stages, including small, medium, and large theaters, primarily in Japan and Europe (France, Netherlands, UK, Russia) as a performing artist and actor for approximately 10 years. Additionally, with over a decade of experience as a singer-songwriter, he made his global debut as a singer in 2021.
In his theatrical performances, SHINRYU performs and directs works rooted in Japanese traditions, blending unique expressions with modern interpretations. He is a master of authentic sword-fighting performances derived from the New National Theatre’s “Shinkokugeki” tradition, Japanese dance from Kabuki’s “Bando-Ryu” and “Fujima-Ryu” schools, and the traditional “Okame-Hyottoko” mask dance. Additionally, he studied European performance techniques in France and the Netherlands in 2013 and 2017.
SHINRYU founded his own performance company, TEAM SAMURAI (2012–2015). In 2012, he won the Best Performance Award and received the individual Best Director Award at a prestigious theater competition in Saint Petersburg, Russia, held in collaboration with the Japanese Consulate General.
In 2021, SHINRYU joined the international project “Merry Christmas,” performing alongside acclaimed artists such as Oscar-nominated actor Paul Raci and Grammy-nominated bassist Mark Corradetti. In the same year, he founded RICEBALL Entertainment for music production. He released his debut album, Innocence, in 2023.
SHINRYU is originally from Tokyo and lived in the UK and the Czech Republic for many years. He completed his studies at the Prague Conservatory in the 2023–2024 academic year. He is currently traveling across Europe and Japan to create music.

パフォーミングアーティスト、アクター、シンガーソングライター、作曲家、童話作家、演出家、プロデューサー。表現者。日本、フランス、オランダ、イギリス、ロシア等、世界的に活動。パフォーミングアーティストとして約10年間で経験したステージは1,000を超える。舞台演出家、プロデューサーとしても精力的に舞台作品を創作し、2012年、日本総領事館主催の元、芸術の都サンクトペテルブルク (ロシア) で開催された高等演劇コンクールで、最優秀パフォーマンス賞と最優秀ディレクター賞をダブル受賞。
20代後半で拠点を本格的にヨーロッパに移す。イギリスでは教会やイベントでのソロパフォーマンス、オランダでは現地アーティストや音楽家との舞台公演などを中心に活動。スペイン遠征、アムステルダム公演などを経て、2017年、オランダ最大級のアニメフェスのメインステージを最後に、身体的な理由から当面の舞台活動を休止。
その後一般企業に勤めながら、10代から続けていたシンガーソングライターとしての活動を再開。イギリス滞在中 (2015〜2018) に書き溜めていた楽曲の発表を迷っていたところ、2021年に海外のミュージシャンからオファーを受け、ワールドプロジェクト「Merry Christmas」に参加。先がけて世界デビューとなる。ハリウッドの名優Paul Raciや、グラミー賞ノミネートベーシストMark Corradettiら世界的アーティスト達と共に1曲のクリスマスソングを紡いだ。
同年、アーティスト名をSHIN (Shinnosuke) からSHINRYUに変更。
2022年、RICEBALL Entertainment立ち上げ。音楽プロデューサーとしても本格的に活動を始める。同年、シングル7曲を発表。
2023年、ファーストアルバム「INNOCENCE」をリリース。同年、WBCチェコ代表キャプテン、ペトル・ジーマ選手のチーム、イーグルスプラハ（拠点: プラハ）の応援曲をプロデュース。
2024年、プラハコンセルヴァトワール（プラハ音楽院）2023年期修了。現在、クラシックシンギングをJiri Kubik氏に、指揮をMiriam Nemcova氏に師事。
2023年〜2025年、ヨーロッパ各地を旅しながら作曲や楽曲製作を続ける。シンガーソングライターとしての楽曲だけでなく、インスト楽曲や合成音声楽曲などもプロデュース。人間ベースのアレンジだけでなく、AIソフトを使ったアレンジなども手がける。
国境や人種、文化の違いなどに垣根なく生きるその自由な生き方は、音楽のジャンルにさえ囚われない、SHINRYUの自由な発想と多様な音楽性に繋がっている。
